The UNC Reese Innovation Lab and Kenan-Flager Next, an applied research partnership, seeks a Business Fellow to develop go-to-market plans and strategies for new products. The fellow will join a team of creative applied technologists and storytellers working to create and share novel and immersive storytelling experiences. They create products that engage audiences by leveraging new technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality with unique, research-based perspectives.
This position will research, write, and provide insights for commercializing innovations into new products. Business Fellow is responsible for working on multiple projects in various disciplines that could include healthcare and education. Two example projects are Adventure Squad and KF-Next’s Endurance VR
This position has the potential to become the leader of a project startup that may spin out of the lab.
The position requires 20 hours per week but is flexible up to 40 and is paid hourly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand technical concepts and products
Ideate commercial solutions
Primary and secondary market research and analysis
Research markets, audiences, and competitors
Research, write and prepare a go-to-market strategy for products
Plan and brief director and suggested business entity for launch (Startup, LLC, C-Corp, Non-Proft, etc.)
Prepare sales materials and briefings
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completed any undergraduate degrees
1st or 2nd year MBA student or similar
Proficient in English
Enjoys primary and secondary research
Experience in the healthcare field or some experience in software development, computer science, electrical engineering technology or product development
Previous project or examples demonstrating personal innovation, persistence, and knowledge
